Sound healing is an ancient form of medicine that uses sound to re-introduce harmony to the body. Everything is made of vibration, and your body is no exception. Your body is a symphony and when we are healthy everyone is vibrating in resonance. When out of balance we begin to experience dis-ease within the body. This can show up as pain, tension, discomfort, and various emotions.
Sound works in two ways:
Brain waves: Through entrainment, sound slows the brain waves down bringing you into deep states of meditation.
Physically: Sound penetrates deeper than physical touch and affects us on a cellular level. When you attend a sound bath your body is reintroduced to harmony, and the sound works to bring all parts of the body into resonance.
Energetically and emotionally: It helps to move experiences and emotions out of your energy field to be resolved and released.

Tantra means to loom or weave. It is the embodiment of the connection between the enjoyment of material things and the joy of experiencing one's soul.
Tantra is the yoga of embodiment, it is the feminine more malleable approach to yoga. In classical yoga, we ignore the body and see it as something in the way of transcendence. In Tantra, we transcend through the body. We care for the body and how it carries us in this life. It encourages people to move through the world with more confidence and contentment, enjoying this body and all it affords us.
In tantra we weave together many techniques– asana (postures), mudra, mantra, sound, breathwork... we use all of these in various ways to heal, transform, and experience freedom. It is the yoga of FLOW. In tantra, we believe that when the body and mind are nourished the soul thrives and we can experience union with the Divine.
Tantra is woven into everything that I offer because of it's grounded approach to spirituality.
Yoga Nidra is a powerful technique, also known as psychic sleep, in which you learn to relax consciously. It is a systemic method of inducing complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation.
In this threshold state between sleep and wakefulness, contact with the subconscious and unconscious dimensions occurs spontaneously. This is where the magic happens! Your subconscious mind is the storehouse for your beliefs and programs that are essentially running the show. Yoga Nidra gives us some more power around the unknown programs and beliefs we are creating our lives from.
What is really cool about this is that these programs can be released both consciously and unconsciously in this state, meaning you may not even be aware of the shift until you see the effects of its release in your outer experience. In this state we also have the opportunity to plant new seeds of intention that will manifest through our physical experience.
One of the most incredible benefits of this practice is what this type of rest does for your body, especially if you are someone who is not getting enough sleep. Rest and sleep are not the same, you can sleep while not getting very much rest at all. Due to the state of rest cultivated with this practice, 1 hour of Yoga Nidra is equal to 4 hours of sleep in relation to what it does for your body. (Probably one of my favorite benefits if I am being honest!)

My Story
My name is Amanda, I am the creator of Sacred Cymatics Yoga & Sound Healing. My journey with yoga started 10 years ago when I was in college struggling with anxiety, depression, and an overall lack of motivation. I had been on depression medication, ADHD medication, and sleeping medication... each one counteracting the side-effects of the one before and bringing their own side-effects. Yoga was the only thing that brought me peace and helped me manage the withdrawals from those medications for a period of 3 years as I began to slowly reduce my meds and get to the root of my issues. Yoga became a form of medicine for me.
In 2016 I decided to take a Yoga Teacher Training program and was introduced to sound healing. This modality blew me away because of how instantaneously I was able to find presence and get out of my head. It was what I felt after a yoga practice x10. This is where I began to marry my love for yoga and sound together. For years sound and yoga were my own form of medicine. It brought me clarity, calmed my mind, released my anger and frustration, and gave me a birds-eye-view of my life. It led me to the people, places, and things I needed to heal. Yoga and sound became my anchor.
Through my own healing, Sacred Cymatics was created. My mission through Sacred Cymatics is to create spaces and share practices that regulate and strengthen the nervous system and bring you back to your center so that you too can see your path more clearly. My intention is that through my offerings I inspire the willingness to look within so that you can begin to shift your outside circumstances. It is my belief that through inner-knowing we become the authority in our lives and give ourselves permission to powerfully create the life we desire.
Sacred Cymatics
Cymatics is the study of vibrational phenomenon that is created from sound. In cymatics, the most beautiful harmonic patterns, likened to Mandalas, are created from sound waves. On a foundational level, everything is vibration and holds a specific frequency. Sacred Cymatics is the fine-tuning of YOUR frequency, bringing internal harmony to create the sacred mandala of your life through Sound Healing, Yoga, Breathwork, Ceremony, and Meditation.
